Another quick scene from starting Op life
Martin
Aeiou turned the pages of the computer printout back and forth, pausing to frown occasionally.
"Any more ideas?"
"What about Doc Shock?"
"Umm, no, that's taken, they already have a sponsor so no go."
"Dr Fish?"
"No way. Copyrighted up to the hilt by Cartoon Central."
"Virus...that's medical."
"So's Myocardial Infarction. I'm hardly going to inspire confidence amongst my charges with that name am I?"
"But we're your charges..."
"Well yeah, but like civilians and Shivers and stuff"
"Good name for a Squad that...Myocardial Infarction...couldn't we have that we haven't registered yet. It's better than what we've got now."
"I like Hesitant Rage, it's intellectual, yet catchy."
"Dr Dare?"
"Possible...wait a minute I think there was a Doctor Dare back in the 700's or so. Big time squad, umm, Energetic Disassembly. Did a big Soft Company termination. She'd have to check with legal about whether his name is owned all ready, you'd probably have to pay some fee or other."
"Someone already has, in fact there's four of them."
"How come?"
"You can have multiple Ops with the same name as long as they are low profile, once one of them has reached the global media then the others have to change, or pay a franchise fee, or something."
Pages turned
"Sanctuary, The Doctor, Penny Silling, Blasterplaster?"
"What?"
"Umm, Blasterplaster, you know. Blaster as in gun, plaster as in...plaster."
"No."
"Lubejob?"
"You're not taking this seriously are you?"
"Tourniquet?"
"Ooooh, bit tasteless there..."
"Look two of them lived, it was enough for a pass mark. Actually I like that...Tourniquet, that could work"
"Pert"
"What!"
"Pert...P, U, R, T. Pentangle, Umbra, Ragman and Tourniquet."
"Umm, hadn't thought of that....Still could of been worse if we let Steel join"
