I don't normally do poetry that rhymes, I usually find it to restrictive, but I seem to recall a conversation with Ninja about that and this one seemed to fall out in occasional rhyming couplets when I was noting it down so I thought I'd give it a go.
Feels a bit forced in places to me. Sorry.

The world does not cry

The world does not cry
When children die,
Unproductive, not a loss to face.

Who would morn
For lives yet unformed
More will be born to fill the space.

Like the constant tv chatter
Or the rain through which we splatter
Not deserving of a second thought

Just an ever present feature,
the ending of such creature.
Why else is this place Mort?

Life is cheap here in this clutter
See that small body in the gutter
Yet no mortal tears will fall.

Deliberate death by Darknight rota,
Skin trade "Excess to Quota"
Bullet bouncing of a wall.

Its just one less mouth to feed
One less drain on social need
One less beggar to avoid

No weeping parents or next of kin
Just an unrevealed origin.
Not seen as life destroyed.

But

If the world does not cry
when children die

Explain
The rain.
