Silver BPN issued by the makers of the Death Race program. The task is to provide cover and support for the race in what ever capacity the producer dictates.

Bonus scheme is 0.5scl and 500c per op. However more important is the chance to get your squad name noticed and prove your professional expertise to all those potential sponsors
Due to the extensive nature of the race, more than one squad can accept so internal compition between the squads on the BPN is rife.

Death Raid back ground

This is a yearly event involves a car race across Mort from CS4 wall, (Cornman Gate) south to CS3 wall (Carridine road).

The route takes the racers through Down town and suburbia, skirting Uptown to do a special stage in the arena, and then back out into down town via the shortest route.

Other than the uptown stage (where they must take the stallone freeway from the uptown wall to the arena and back) competitors are free to take what ever route they want between the check points.

The winner of the race is not always first over the line. Instead there is a point system involving times between the end of day check points, the bystanders killed and damage done to the opponents vehicles.

However Damage done to SLA property is deducted on a points per 100c bases.

Given the expense of such an event Sponsor ship is essential. Thus 'product' placement is everything. However ANYONE with a car can enter and so there is always a large number of hopeful amatures to act as cannon fodder and bump up the scores of the professional teams

This years major entrants.

Squad Karma.

The official karma entered team, K-Drive and K-Nav are 2 specifically grown xeno Stormer (a new pair for each race) are body sculptures to resist the Gf forces, have Nerves pushed to the limits to enhance reaction times. In short ,every advantage Karma product can give, including a hardwired map or the major roadways on Mort to allow the team to instinctively navigate the most advantagous route. Karma write off the cost of their participation in the event as 'product developement' and 'advertisment'.

Screaming lament:

The dark lament team Lessa (ebon) driver and Rage (Brainwaster) navigator. They use the Millenium Bug flux car [Think of a VW beetle crossed with a death suit- say "sue that is just to silly" and change it to a lamboginee- probably blissfully unaware that Stirling Moss once said "it may be a great car but if it ran across my kitchen I'd stamp on it." Ok back to the plot... sorry.]
This pair have won this race more times and any other team. However this is the first year in the new and as yet un tried Flux car. Rumour has it that either they will win by the bigest margin ever, or not even make the arena. The arrival of the flux car has caused some controversy and there are rumours that it can fold. Dark lament have refused to comment before the race.

Augustus racing team.

In partnership with CMC this year for the first time, ART have tempted back into the drivng seat the popular driver Verturbo.
After his all-but death two years ago Verturbo retired from the compition with a very public and out spoken rant about the quality of GA'J's vehicle. His defection to ART rather than remaing in retirement has come as a shock. Rather than the usual navigator Verturbo is racing solo this year, using a CMC customised expert system to determine the best route with the most points to be scored.

BLAT.

In an unusual devepment BLA have entered a pair of Pandora trikes. This has caused some questions as the race is technically restricted to cars, however the multi wheeled nature of the vehicles have allowed them to side step the rule. Besides most serious competitors do not expect vehicles that give so little protection the the driver to get that far.Giving rise to the nickname BLAT-SPLAT
May be BLA have a plan. It is to be hoped for the sake of there drivers Chopper Harris and Prebendery Norton that they do.

team-GaJ.

Shocked by the loss of Venturbo, last year GaJ took the unusual step of holding heats to find a new driver. The winner of the compition, A shaktar called N'k S'nr proved thier technique by getting the highest gross score ever in the race last year. Unfortunately the destruction of a Killcopter covering the race for 3rd eye markedly reduced his net points and thus the actually title went to pit stop. This year he won the selection races once again and it is to be hope he has been better briefed.

Pit stop.

Last year pitstop entered the race as a bit of a joke. They are the mechanics that maintain the bikes in the depths of Morts most populer night club. The car they used was scratch built from the remains of the bikes Sla ops destroy on such a regular bases, plus a large streatch of bar salvaged from Herasy after one of the better nights.
Against all odds, (and it must be said down mainly to dirty infighting and stupidity amongst the other enterants) They won.
This year they have sponsorship from MAL and have had much better raw materials to work with. The driver and navigator are Mat Pike and Shela Stone. Both human.

Amongst the strangeness around the race the following are to be found.

The Associated press sports team 'covering' this event (though not so you would notice) are Raoul Duke and T.G.Gonzo. The squad will keep running into these two. They are obviously hallcinating and on some strange combination of drugs (Want clues? go watch fear and loathing in las vagus). This makes them very dangerous to be around, especially as they both have Fen 603's and a large amount of ammo.

The fans:

Venturbo's fan club are out in force after the break last year. And they are willing to do anything to up his total, which includes self sacrifice under the wheels of his car. They are fanatical to say the least.

The nutters out in force:

The anti race league. A strange group of kill joys who say that the race is 'sick' because it encourages dangerous driving and death on the roads. The organisers say "Yeah And?".

S14CRP. The sector 14 council for Racial purity are protesting this year against the removal of the non-human kill bonus. Prior to this year all non human kills scored an additional 15% but after pressure form the Racial equality program the rule was dropped. CRP State that this is just one more example of the erosion of human supremacy on Mort.
S14 are the largest group in the CRP and the race goes through this sector just before it enters Up town,
