2 am, St Joes Hospital, Uptown.
Sat on a cold bench, head held in my hands at the end of another 12 hour Red Shift. My doctors clothes, soaked in the blood of another nights victim's of Slayer's wonderful World Of Progress.
Started out quiet, a few kids, in because they'd had a bike accident on the wet roads in Uptown. Few SLops in with stomach aches from the shitty food vendors in Downtown, wanting a quick fix to get back onto their BPN.
Lull till 4, then chaos as KATN came in, Stormer dead, Human missing half his guts. Darknight bomb in Downtown, 10 shivers, 32 civ's, blood everywhere. Always red blood everywhere
Busy around 7, the usual tramps that have got through from Downtown. Pissed, starving and disease ridden. Shot one to put him out of misery 'cause his cancer was so bad.
Emergency at 11, Thresher raid on an Uptown power plant. 14 technicians with major damage to most organs. The students from Meny couldn't cope, lost their lunches all over the corpses.
Long operation at 1, tried to save ebon shot through the head by some rioters. Dead 20 seconds before we could save him. Immediately a nec union arrived and took him away.
Off to bed for 12 hours, then same shift tommorrow.
