The Genesis virus originated in the D'Lion sector in Downtown. It's first victim was a Feral Ebon called Kie'Ono.
He was found in the toilets of Frankie's bar, face down in a toilet, drowned in his own vomit. This would not normally have merited furhter investigations, had the ebon in question not been carrying several pieces of prototype weaponry stolen from Dark Lament.
An autospy was carried out by Brain Waster "Squid". The autospy only revealed that the feral ebon had a lung infection, similar to a cold found amongst humans.
Squid was found dead in his apartment 12 hours later, apparently having died from blood loss caused by a paper cut on his little finger.
Immediate quaratine was effected on any ebons known to have had contact with Squid, and/or the feral ebon.
More extensive testing was conducting, and a blood test and skin analysis on the bodies uncovered a virus.
The virus was analysed and it was discovered that it contained trace elements of Depleted Uranium. It's effects were tested on a sample of Dark Lament science friction material. The material was not adversary affected until an extra foreign body, in the test case, a sample of psycho-reactive ebb material from a necanthropes gore cannon.
As soon as the foreign body was introduced the material underwent extreme degredation, suffering roughly 100 times more damage from the ebb material than expected.
The researchers conclude that the depleted uranium in the virus restricts an ebons body, and any science friction material, froming using any natural immunity to disease and any natural regerative abilities. Any disease the inflicted ebon has will therefore, have a much greater effect, usually leading to the ebons death.
