i've asked sue to host a picture that Daver drew in the front of my CD. the picture is of a nasty looking beastie with huge toothy jaws. the following is my take on what this beastie might be, but i'd be interested in hearing some other ideas on what it is...

The first sighting of the Daver Beast was in late 901 SD, when a sewer worker, Fred Daver, was found with a single gunshot wound to the head. On his body was found a slip of paper containing a profile drawing of an unrecognised beast.
An operative squad, Emoticons, was sent into the sewer system where Mr Daver's body was found. Out of the four man squad, only 2 survivors returned. They had lost one member to flood waters, and another to some kind of sewer fish. No sighting of the Daver beast was made.
About two months later, a Contract Killer, The Page, was monitored accessing records relating to sewer creatures. His search parameters were similar to the description of the Daver Beast. Cloak Division brought The Page in for questionning and discovered that he had seen what he fought was a canivorous pig eating Karma waste material. Upon closer inspection, the head, and body texture did not perfectly match a standard pig.
The Daver Beast is a small parasitic organism that lives in slow, shallow water in Downtown sewer systems. It enters a host through any available opening, including eyes, ears, nostrils and anuses. Once it is within a host it uses their blood vessels to move around, eliminating any organs that might resist its invasion.
It then attaches itself to the hosts spinal column, typically in the neck area. From here it takes control of the host, but also releases virus spores that alter the hosts DNA. These alterations take the form of enhanced visual senses, elongated facial features, increased jaw strength, increased tooth size, strength and sharpness, flexible facial tissue, gills, sub-dermal plating of cartlige, toughened leather-like skin and sharpened claws. There is no increase to physical strength, agility, intelligence or constitution.
The Daver beast breeds by invaded female host bodies and using their wombs to imprwegnate them with upto 20 eggs. These eggs have an incubation periods of around 1 month, at which point their casings explode, rupturing the womb and allowing the new parasites to escape. This inevitably kills the host and the original beast.
Daver beasts can attach themselves to any mammal, though they typically attach themselves to humans, frothers, carrien and canivorous pigs.
