A.V.S.

A.V.S. is an important part of the story line. It is where Andi lives and hence where the Misfits hang out.

AVS Alexi's Vehicle Shop.

A.V.S. is a well equipped, expertly staffed repair/ chop shop on the corner of Bexter and Hanson.
A large but low building, It has 'space' for 2 APC and 3 car size repair bays and can even take killcopters (and similar large flying things) by means of a roof pad and floor to roof lift.

Officially most of their work is Civilian however they have developed a reputation for being a good place to go for a bit of work on the quiet.
You know.... That interesting bit of weaponry you picked up on the last BPN which you are not quite the right SCL for but you are sure no one knows you have got. Or that dent in the APC caused by colliding with that building which you're fairly certain can't be traces to you but you would rather not turn up at the crib with.
Such work had spread through SLA squads by word of mouth friend of a friend. The only SLA aimed 'advertising' Alexi does is a small badge on the back of Squad misfits Kill copter and APC.

It has a extensive 'spares' ware house in the basement which has a surprising variety of bits in it. Although unusual parts take a bit of finding and it may be a few hours if they are not 'in stock'. (Don't ask where he gets them from and he won't ask why you need them)

The top floor above the stores/ offices is a flat which is now occupied by Andi of Squad misfits.
The Misfits vehicles are also kept on site when they are not on a BPN or pottering around in them for a laugh.

Alexi

The owner/ chief mechanic is Alexi, an exSLA op invalided out after a very high D-noticed BPN and the death of his wife. He doesn't talk much about 'the old days' but will nod sympathetically as the squads complain about SLA red tape etc.
He is a large well build man with dark short hair and a thick moustache. He talks with a noticeable accent (Russian in ours, interpret as you want in your world) which get thicker if people start talking about things that are 'D-notice'. (Stress response). He knows far more than he should but says virtually nothing. He also makes a wicked (vodka like) home brew in a still in the back of the store room. It is guaranteed to numb the pain of any weird shit the characters have recently encountered (hence its name of Alexi's forgetting juice) but only people he really likes ever get access to it.

Due to the rapid way Alexi had to put A.V.S together, many of the employees are either Ex Slaops or family/ friends of current SLA ops.

Robert Kendra Human male

'Bob' lives with his SLA op wife Celia just round the corner from A.V.S. at 195 Lanois Street, Bob and Celia witnesses Andi's SLA contract of employment. Like Alexi he is ex-SLA of dubious back ground. After being thrown out of SLA and coming back from <Insert your favourite Prison here> Alexi took him on as a favour to Celia. He is glad to get this second chance and works damn hard to pay Alexi pack for this break.

Keith works as receptionist/publicity/office personnel for A.V.S. He makes sure that all the paper work is up to date, that all M.O.T. are correctly registered etc. He is not above 'falsifying' side data if needed, (for those dodgy installations mentioned above) Alexi knows but apparently turns a blind eye as long as it is not directly traceable to A.V.S.
Keith is also responsible for most of the billing. He has been skimming the civilian profits for a while (SLA stuff in credits being harder to fiddle with). Alexi has noticed the odd discrepancy but so far has put it down to accounting/typo errors made by Amber.
Keith lives with his wife Morven at 142 Pyron Street. She is a SCL8 Strike Sla Op working with Squad 606. A.V.S. Maintains 606's scafs.

Spirit is the person who does the paint jobs on the Misfits (And other) vehicles. The A.P.C.'s black an purple motive is because when she said "What do you want it like" Andi pointed at her favourite jacket and said "Like that but darker."
Spirit lives with her kid brother at Flat 6 192 Lanois Street.

Pfenn is the Electronics wiz-kid. He quit a SLA subsidiary where he felt his skills were being over looked to join A.V.S. about a month after it was set up. Most of the 'innovative' work that goes on at A.V.S. (And almost all of those dodgy installations) are over seen by Pfenn. When not out in the work shop he is hidden in the electronics room in the basement tinkering with some thing.
No one knows where Pfenn lives. The only contact they have for him is a mobile phone, He walks to work and is never late.

Blake James Human female

Where Pfenn takes a scientific planned approach to his work, Blake is a "tap it and see" engineer. The two conflict regularly as Blake makes 'on the spot' adjustments to his carefully calculated plans. Alexi reckons that one day they will either kill each other or get married.
Blake lives in up town with her parents. She drives to work every day in her TVR sports car. She is never on time.

Karakul towers over every one else. It is a running joke that his grandfather was a stormer. One that he does not appreciate. Despite this short temper he has a charm about him that makes him every popular with the women. He sings in a band that plays at local pubs and is sort of hoping that one day the band will be discovered and he will become rich and famous.
Karakul lives with his mates in the band above the recording studio they use on West Halam Rd.

Robert is one of those quiet small guys who vanishes into the back ground. Because of this when Alexi needed a victim to send on the First aid course to cover the Health and Safety requirements, Robert got to go. He discovers a knack for medical things and Alexi has encouraged this. Eventually Robert hopes to go to Meny to do Medicine.

Tom, as she like to be called, is a talented Mechanic, probably the best at A.V.S. after Alexi himself. She can just listen to an engine and describe the problem in her simple straight to the point manner. Some people using A.V.S. have started asking for her personally and Alexi is a little afraid that she might set off to work on her own. There is little danger of this. She has worked out how much paper work is involved running a business and does not want the distraction from her true love of engines this would cause.

Amber Moselle Human female

Amber has no real love for vehicles. This is just a job and she is not very good at it. However Alexi keeps her around because she reminds him of Lemay (his ex wife) and she is very good at 'getting repeat custom off certain young men' that she flirts with when they bring in their cars. To stop her destroying anything Alexi usually get her to pick up and deliver customers vehicles and type up the invoices.

Tom and Amber share a flat in a small apartment block about five minutes walk form A.V.S. Amber's constant stream of boyfriends is a source of friction between the two and Tom is threatening to move out.

Ok the truth about Alexi.- Ref only stuff.

Alexi took the mechanic package at Meny. He did well and attracted some attention. He went into Squad work until 'personal differences' with his Squad leader forced him to go solo.(They shared the same girl friend for a while). He fell into cloak-accident man work, arranging for convenient accidents to befall troublesome individuals. Having risen through the SCL ranks he was assigned to a Cloak built squad designed to go out and do deep cover work.. This is where he met Lemay, his wife.
Detail on this period are sketchy and very D-noticed at stupidly high SCL. All that is known is that the only survivor of the Squad was Alexi and that his "pretty" wife died of a "17mm Hesh round to her pretty face".
Broken by the loss of his wife and friends and by what ever weirdness he encountered, he would probably not have lasted long if the SLA high ups had not suddenly found themselves in need of a High SCL, totally deniable, individual who might have at least something in common with their 'missing product'. (A love of large bits of metal.)
So armed with a picture and a limited amount of data Alexi set off into Mort to locate Andi and bring him back the SLA. It took him about a year to find the boy, which gave him enough time to establish A.V.S. as a going concern and reasonable cover.

He answers directly to some one high up in the cloak/A.I. direction of SLA hierarchy. His current assignment is to keep and eye on Andi and make sure that SLA do not loose this 'valuable commodity'. Assume that he is a higher SLA than any of the characters and anything they do that is 'dubious' is reported to A.I. However as they do not want to reveal their source they are unlikely to act on this information whilst they need the Andi Alexi connection.

At some point, due to the events in the Andi plot line, Andi will mysteriously vanish. Once this happens weather Alexi continues with A.V.S. is up to you. However I.A. will no longer have to keep his information quiet and so might just decide to act one what ever material he has given them. Seeing as Andi has vanished, Alexi can always blame it all on him.
